Our daily program provides opportunities for both formal meditation practice and study of the Dhamma. All sessions are conducted in English with occasional translations available in Burmese. Visitors are welcome to join any session that is marked as open to guests.

Practice

Meditation Programs

We offer structured meditation instruction for both beginners and experienced practitioners. Our approach is based on the Four Foundations of Mindfulness as taught in the Satipatthana Sutta.

Beginner's Mindfulness Course

A 4-week introduction to mindfulness meditation covering basic sitting and walking meditation techniques. Sessions include guided practice and discussion of foundational concepts.

Duration: 4 weeks
Frequency: Weekly, 2-hour sessions
Prerequisites: None

Advanced Meditation Retreat

An intensive 10-day silent retreat focusing on deepening mindfulness practice. Participants observe the eight precepts and engage in extended periods of sitting and walking meditation.

Duration: 10 days
Frequency: Twice yearly
Prerequisites: Completion of Beginner's Course or equivalent experience

Loving-Kindness (Metta) Workshop

A weekend workshop exploring the practice of metta meditation as a means of developing unconditional love and compassion for all beings.

Duration: 2 days
Frequency: Quarterly
Prerequisites: Basic meditation experience

Dhamma & Daily Life

A monthly program exploring how to integrate Buddhist principles into work, relationships, and contemporary challenges.

Duration: 3 hours
Frequency: Monthly
Prerequisites: None

Retreats

Special Retreats

Our retreats provide an opportunity to deepen practice in a supportive community environment. All retreats include accommodation, meals, and instruction. Registration is required in advance.

New Year's Silent Retreat

Start the year with a deep commitment to practice. This 7-day retreat focuses on mindfulness of breathing and loving-kindness meditation.

Rain's Retreat (Vassa)

Traditional 3-month retreat during the rainy season, following the ancient monastic practice. Limited to committed practitioners.

Dates: Jul 1 - Sep 30

Insight Meditation Retreat

An intensive 5-day exploration of vipassana meditation with extended silent practice periods.

Dates: Apr 15-19 & Oct 15-19
Cost: Donation-based

Guidelines

Visitor Guidelines & Etiquette

To ensure a peaceful environment for all, we ask visitors to observe the following guidelines:

General Conduct

  • Maintain silence in meditation areas
  • Remove shoes before entering buildings
  • Dress modestly (covered shoulders and knees)
  • Photography only in designated areas
  • Refrain from public displays of affection

Practice Guidelines

  • Arrive on time for scheduled activities
  • Turn off mobile devices or set to silent
  • Participate respectfully in communal activities
  • Ask permission before approaching monks
  • Follow the five precepts during your visit
